I know that Dubai is not part of the European continent while the blog’s stories are about Europe. Anyway, as Europeans are very interested (are covetous of) in Dubai for both holidays and work (the biggest expat’ communities are British and French!), I decided to go and to tell you my observations.
I am preparing my luggage.
The time of the year
We decided to visit it in May. According to what people say in the forums, Dubai is very calm in May, it is not too hot nor too crowded. I will tell you if it was a good choice.
The place – the neighborhoods
I hesitated and searched for a long time where to stay. Bur Dubai, Deira, Internet City and others. I read a lot of things on internet (again the forums), even though I could not choose any neighborhood.
In the end, I asked a lady, I have met at ITB Berlin at Dubai’s stand, who lives there. She recommended La Marina. Metro and bus stations are not very far, in front of you is Jumeriah The Palm, with a stunning view, just like I love it!
So, it will be The Marina !
Visits and to-do list
For my 4day trip I’d like to visit:
- Burj Khalifa (at the top)
- The fountains in front of Dubai Mall
- Dubai Mall (where is the aquarium with more than 450 species)
- Ski Dubai (just visit not necessarily skiing)
- La Marina of course
- A ferry stroll
- Old Dubai (not sure about the soucs )
- And I am keen on going to Abu Dhabi on bus
I will tell you very soon. 😉
